Wow,great work team. What a star to secure for this gala. I was possibly going away but I'm not now. Graham
ReplyDeleteAs mentioned above, this year's event is "simply unmissable" :-)
DeleteThat's a great signing. Will be a great crowd puller.
Deletegreat choice of guest engines , will 70013 and 6023 haul the 16 coach express on Saturday night ? What will be the final guest loco ? could it possibly be 7029 from Tyseley ? john M.
ReplyDeleteAlas the Saturday night express will only end up being 8 carriages rather than the hoped for 16. There is a silver lining though, in that 70013 wasn't permitted by its owners to pull 16 plus a loco, whereas it will be allowed to pull 8. Ben, our timetable guru is still working on the finer details of what locos haul what trains, but the possibility that you mention above, albeit with 8 carriages rather than 16 is a strong possibility. I can say though, that much as I would dearly love for it to come to us, the 4th loco will not be 7029, Clun Castle.
ReplyDeleteok we'd take 5043 insted!
DeleteGreat shame about the evening train being 8 coaches rather than 16, I was really looking forward to that with the King. Ah well, looking forward to it nonetheless.
Deleteworth a try ! Look forward to a great event ,am bringing some KING fans from Solihull down to see 6023 ,I never thought this would happen on the GWR with 'Mainline'locos , well done and keep steaming ! john M.
ReplyDeleteGreat news!
ReplyDeleteMy fantasy scenario is for in 2028 NR to have reopened Stratford to Long Marston and GWSr got to Honeybourne, permitting Tyseley locomotives to haul Birmingham Moor Street to Cheltenham expresses regularly!
Keep dreaming as that is how these things come about eventually, as we have seen before.
DeleteUnfortunately I have read that Warwickshire County Council have yet again myopically refused to support reopening Stratford to Honeybourne by Network Rail. We need central government to force their hard. I mean this from a strategic national network perspective, the heritage dreams would be a happy bi product.
