As was mentioned on the previous blog entry, Brian Peacey, a long time supporter of the Gloucestershire & Warwickshire Railway passed away on the 12th of April. I have now received a few photos taken by Catherine Pyke who was a passenger on the first steam train on Sunday morning. They show Ben Evason, the driver of the train taking flowers to Brian's widow as she waited at the bottom of her garden in Bishops Cleeve for the train, in much the same way that her husband had done for so many years. I am informed that there was a good turnout of members of the steam loco dept at his funeral on Monday. Brian's cheery wave from the bottom of his garden each day will be much missed by the railway's locomotive crews. Our thoughts and prayers are very much with his widow and family at this time.
